I was ridiculously happy to find the books by Robert Graves. I'm also very pleasantly surprised to now own "Three Dark Crowns" and "His Majesty's Dragon".

Most likely never to be read
Probably the fourth book in the "Blue Bloods" series, just in case I don't like the first ones. Other than that, I'd say maybe "The Eyre Affair", because I'm intimidated by all the references to classics I've not yet read.

Overall thoughts
I'm happy with the books I manage to find. Regarding covid-19, I want to assure you that I haven't been breaking restrictions, and I've been careful while shopping. I'v kept my distance and executed extra good hygiene to protect myself and others. The restrictions in Sweden allow people to go outside with some limitations. Stores are still mostly open, and I want to do my best to still support the ones I often visited before the pandemic (Emmaus, Erikshjälpen, etc.).

I've had to put a lot of books away not to make room for new ones. There might be up to thirty books behind my books... I don't like it, but it's the way it's gonna have to be right now.

Best find
Maybe "Going Bovine"? I was so happy and surprised to find it in a secondhand shop! Libba Bray is also the author of the "Gemma Doyle" trilogy, which is a YA historical fantasy series set mostly in 19th century Britain, and it was one of my absolute favourite series around 2013. That's why it was great that I found this standalone novel by her as well!

Most expensive book
All the ones from Stockholm were 30SEK each, which makes those the most expensive this month. That fact is a bit crazy.... so cheap!

Best bargain
I seriously got "The Mark of Athena", "Divergent" and "Don Quixote" for 5SEK ($0.52) each at a secondhand shop in Malmö. They were originally 10SEK but set at 50% off.

Most excited to read
Probably "Going Bovine". I'm hoping I can read it next year, maybe.

Most likely never to be read
I feel hopeful and ambitious about it, but "Don Quixote" will surely be a challenge to read. It's got loads of pages and the font is very small. However, it's in good condition, and I  had a hard time finding a nice edition online, so I was happy to find one in a secondhand store.

Books I (kind of) regret not buying
I feel like I've been wanting to buy "The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet" for quite some time now, but I haven't yet, despite reduced price on Book Depository and all. I couldn't really afford a pricier book this month, though.

I was most excited about the books I found in Stockholm; something I'm not surprised about. Last time I went secondhand shopping in Stockholm (last winter), I also found a ton of great books to buy. I wish the supply would also be that promising around Lund, but alas... only sometimes.

Best find
Oooo I'm inclined to say "The Queen of the Tearling" along with the last book in the trilogy, just because it was soooo hyped a few years back and I was really tempted to buy it at full price back then, but I never did. Now I'm stoked to own two books in the trilogy!

Most expensive book
"Bridge of Clay" for 150SEK, however it's not second hand, was bought by a friend at the annual book fair (where books are known to be sold for high prices), and it's a signed copy just for me! So, it was definitely worth it ;)

Best bargain
I got both "The Red Pyramid" and "The Serpent's Shadow" for only 5SEK each, which is CRAZY. I've suddenly become a regular visitor in that particular store nowadays... (btw it's Öppna Hjärtan Secondhand in Malmö, they currently have a 50% sale on all their books, which is why I got these so cheap).

Most excited to read
Could it be anything else than "Wayward Son"? I don't think so! Don't get me wrong; I want to read all of these books eventually, but none as much/soon as "Wayward Son"!

Most likely never to be read
That has to be "Split Feather", which I was given for free by Science Fiction Bokhandeln when making another purchase there around Halloween. I'd never heard of it before, and I'm willing to read it eventually, but it might take a long ass while tbh.

Probably "The Blade Itself" and "Butcher's Crossing". Found them both on secondhand and I look forward to reading them both!

Most expensive book
I'd say "The Raven King" was most costly. I paid 101SEK for it, and for such a price for a paperback, it sure doesn't feel like it's good quality. The texture is all plastic and shiny (in a cheap way) and it's so stiff that I couldn't avoid breaking the spine when I read it.

Best bargain
I actually feel like four of the new books I ordered from Book Depository and Adlibris were pretty good bargains. "This is How You Lose the Time War" and "The Fifth Season" were both on sale on Book Depository along with a bunch of other best sellers, so I got them both for about 75SEK each, which I think is a decent price for a paperback nowadays. I also must mention "Evelyn Hugos sju äkta män", which in Swedish paperback cost 55SEK. That one was from Adlibris. I am super stoked to read ALL of these books and was so happy to find them for relatively good prices online.

Most excited to read
Omgggg there are several here that I'm just SO stoked for! I think the ones I'll pick up the soonest are "Firefight", "Evelyn Hugos sju äkta män", and "This is How You Lose the Time War", mostly because I think those are all books I can fly through quickly. I've already read "The Raven King" at this point, but I wasn't as excited about it as with some of the rest.

Most likely never to be read
Well... I did an oopsie. I found "Dead Man's Blues" in a secondhand store and fell in love with the cover. The plot also seemed very promising, so I bought it. I didn't understand at all that it was the second book in a series... So in order to ever get to reading it, I'll have to get my hands on the first book somehow. We'll see if I really want to read "Dead Man's Blues" enough to make the effort.

There are a few books that were 10% off on Book Depository that I really wanted to get... To mention a few, there were "The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet" by Becky Chambers and "Gentleman Jack" by Angela Steidele.

Um... maybe? Starting to get real tight in here. To save the day, I bought a shoe shelf (?) at an auction, and for the moment it's living the life of a book shelf until it finds its right place in this world eventually.

Probably "The Invention of Hugo Cabret", which I've wanted to have for ages. I remember my teacher reading it to the class when I was about 11 years old, so it brings out some level of nostalgia.

Most expensive book
So far it's "The Priory of the Orange Tree", which cost me a full 133SEK when ordering brand new (a bit expensive for a paperback, honestly). I also bought a box of the His Dark Materials trilogy for about 230SEK, though that cuts it to about 77SEK per book, which isn't pricey.

Best bargain
Definitely "Kirke" by Madeline Miller! I got this for free, and it was amazing!

Most excited to read
Actually most of them, though I have to say "Doktor Faustus", "The Priory of the Orange Tree", and "Shadow Study" are all at the top of the list.

If I really had to choose, it would be "The Amber Spyglass" and unfortunately "Paper Towns" that are at the bottom of the list. With emphasis on "The Amber Spyglass".

Hmm well considering that the book by John Green was on half the sales price, I'd consider it a great bargain. I doubt I'd be able to find "The Near Witch" in first edition for 30SEK anywhere else, though.

Best find
To be honest, it's probably "Elden" by Maria V. Snyder, because it was sold out everywhere aside from the publisher's website. I was so happy to find it there, and now it matches perfectly with the rest of the series on my shelves.

Most expensive book
That would be "Elden", which in itself only cost 68SEK but with shipping kost 108SEK, which goes a bit over the most expensive book I bought on the sale. 108SEK would translate to about 11.50USD.

Best bargain
Probably one of the hardcovers I bought, but there isn't one that stands out to me as a better bargain than the others.

Most excited to read
Probably "Elden" by Maria V. Snyder (which I of course read this month as soon as it arrived). There's a ton of the other books that I'm just waiting to dive into as well, though.

Sadly, it's most likely gonna be "Dumplin'" that sits on the shelves for the longest time. But who knows; I've been lousy at picking up Julie Kagawa's books for years, so that trend might continue.

It's hard to say, seeing as I'm very happy I found a lot of these books on secondhand. However, I must say I was most happy to find the books by Maria Gripe, although a bunch of other finds have me equally excited.

Most expensive book
Gotta be "Spirit Bound" by Richelle Mead that cost me about 125SEK, paperback, from Book Depository.

Best bargain
Probably "Soundless" by Richelle Mead (paperback) that I bought for like 26SEK (plus shipping) from Bokus. They must've listed it for the wrong price, because as soon as I'd ordered it they raised the price with 100+SEK.

Most excited to read
Right now, I'm looking forward to the books from the "Gallagher Girls" series by Ally Carter. I never thought I'd actually purchase these books, but luckily I found them on Erikshjälpen! I think they'll be fun and quick reads. I'm also excited for everything I've bought for the "Vampire Academy" series!

Most likely never to be read
Unfortunately I also bought some books that'll most likely collect a good amount of dust before I read them (not literally, I keep my shelves and books pretty spotless, unlike the rest of my room). Two of them are "Utvald" (or "Reached" in its original form) by Ally Condie, and the books by Maria Gripe. "Utvald" is the final book in the "Matched" trilogy and I've read the previous two books a few years ago, but my feelings towards them are mild to say the least. The first book was alright for a dystopian YA novel, but the second book was just dull af. This last book is a bit chunky and I can't say I'll be picking it up anytime soon.
When it comes to Maria Gripe, I'm always excited to find her books secondhand, since I loved both "Agnes Cecilia" and "Tordyveln flyger i skymningen", but I'm not seeing myself reading anything else by her soon. I have a lot of respect for her as an author, but these books will have to wait.

I saw "How I Live Now" by Meg Rosoff in Erikshjälpen and wanted to buy it so I could shit talk it at home, but I ended up prioritising other books. It was only 30SEK and in good condition. I've read it in school and kind of hated it, and I like having books I hate at home. However, it was not meant to be for me and this book. Maybe in another time, or another life, or another dimension. I've also wanted to order "Illusions of Fate" by Kiersten White from Book Depository (the hardback is only like 126SEK) but I'm saving my money for Feburary's book sales.

Book Haul ~ Augusti 2015

Yay!

Min första Book Haul! Tog bilderna med min läsplatta (ooh, så avancerat) så de blev bättre än om jag skulle ha tagit dom med datorn. Här finns totalt 12 böcker som jag samlat på mig i augusti. Skulle egentligen varit en bok till (The Little Prince) som jag beställde i augusti, men den har inte kommit än. Jaja, har i alla fall alla de här godbitarna :)

Death Most Definite ~ Trent Jamieson

Death Most Definite var ett totalt impulsköp från Book Depository. Kollade in deras bargain shop och hittade den här för typ 50kr så jag slog till. Det är första delen i en trilogi och är en adult fantasy/sci-fi tror jag. Innehåller både spöken och skräck och utspelar sig Australien! Är faktiskt ganska förväntansfull. Hoppas den är lite cheesy, som Supernatural.

Since You've Been Gone ~ Morgan Matson

Kommer inte riktigt ihåg om jag köpte Since You've Been Gone i augusti eller sena juli, men det var på gränsen. Har hört mycket bra om den på både BookTube och på andra svenska bokbloggar. Jag brukar inte läsa contemporary, men ibland måste man göra undantag.

Äntligen! Har superhöga förväntningar, så jag köpte andra boken också innan jag ens hunnit börja på första. Ska ta tag i dom snart, jag lovar! Aaaah!

Opposition ~ Jennifer L. Armentrout
Sista delen i Lux serien om aliens. Är spänd inför sista boken, men också lite ledsen över att den redan är slut. Och gillar inte omslagsbytet, men vad kan man göra? När det kommer till den här serien köper man verkligen inte böckerna för omslagen ;)

White Hot Kiss ~ Jennifer L. Armentrout

Låt inte omslaget lura dig! Ser ut som en spin-off till Fifty Shades of Grey, men det är de inte. White Hot Kiss är första boken i Jennifer L. Armentrouts nyare trilogi om gargoyler, vari sista boken kom ut nyligen. Kikade på första meningen och den höjde mina förväntningar rejält.

The Iron Trial ~ Cassandra Clare & Holly Black
Hade hört så himla mycket bra om The Iron Trial från BookTube och den har redan blivit översatt till svenska, så jag tänkte att "Nej, nu måste jag minsann läsa den!" Och det gjorde jag. Den var superbra! Har redan gjort en recension och den kan ni gå och läsa om ni har lust.

The Copper Gauntlet ~ Cassandra Clare & Holly Black

The Copper Gauntlet släpptes på Adlibris den 31 augusti, så jag slog till samma dag. Har läst The Iron Trial redan och det var väldigt bra, trots att den är rätt lik Harry Potter på flera sätt. Dock gillade jag huvudkaraktären väldigt mycket.

Miss Mayhem ~ Rachel Hawkins

Bok ett och två i Rachel Hawkins nya serie/trilogi. Har sett fram emot att få tag på dessa enda sedan jag läste Demonglass (hittar dock inte Spell Bound i inbundet format någonstans) och har bara hört bra saker om båda två. De ser ganska flickiga ut, men jag har blivit lovad att huvudkaraktären är väldigt badass.





End of Days ~ Susan Ee
End of Days är sista delen i trilogin Penryn & the End of Days och jag har velat ha den här boken hur länge som helst! Hoppas Susan Ee inte gjorde ett stort misstag när hon bestämde sig för att korta ner de plannerade 5 böckerna i serien till bara tre.

Dreams of Gods & Monsters ~ Laini Taylor
Måste läsa innan bokmässan! Men den är ju hur gigantisk som helst och fonten är ännu mindre än de förra böckerna i serien. Hur ska jag klara av att läsa den här innan 26 september???
